Guillain Barre Syndrome
I approached acupuncture with apprehension and skepticism. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare neurologic condition termed Guillain Barre Syndrome (more specifically Chronic Demyelinating Polyneuropathy). More recently, I was hospitalized for a neurologic disorder, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. Both conditions are chronic.
Though I have remained positive, lingering symptoms of pain and neuropathy have significantly affected my lifestyle.
I will never forget Helen Law’s initial words to me: “Western medicine has treated you as it sees fit, and now it is time for an Eastern approach.” Both Helen and Jennifer have offered therapeutic intervention which has alleviated the intensity of my pain. Their expertise is impressive. Although I still have discomfort – exacerbated by certain activity, exertion or extreme temperature, the Chinese Acupuncture Center has promoted healing within me. With each treatment, I feel stronger and for this, I am very appreciative.
